Socrates Symposium

Today in Humanities my class and I held a Socratic Seminar to discuss the four Cardinal Virtues of Ancient Greece: Prudence, Fortitude, Temperance, and Justice. We talked a lot about how the ancient scholars decided these virtues and what the beliefs behind these virtues were. We also discussed ignorance and the question "Is wrongdoing a consequence of ignorance?". Many said that it was and that it's wrong even if you mean well or had no other choice. I believed that although the wrongdoer may have meant well or had little to no choice, that in order to have a good justice system you must be fair and not make exceptions.
