The Women of Mali

Many people say "Pain is beauty". However, in the African country of Mali women are taking a few steps too far. The women here are pressured to bleach their skin to make it as pallid as possible. They do this to be more salacious or appealing for the men. Without concern for the pain or cost of these bleach creams, it is believed to be an extremely important form of embellishment. Salubrious measures have been taken to educate these women about the health risks of bleaching their skin. This may be a form of a dowry for marriage, but this issue is dangerous and action should be taken to end this practice.
